DESCRIPTION:Info & Registrations here  \nΠΛΗΦΟΡΟΡΙΕΣ ΓΙΑ ΤΟΝ ΑΓΩΝΑ \nΗ εκκίνηση και ο τερματισμός όλων των διαδρομών του ΑΛΦΑΜΕΓΑ RUN AS ONE θα γίνουν στον χώρο στάθμευσης της Υπεραγοράς ΑΛΦΑΜΕΓΑ στην Έγκωμη. H βασική διαδρομή είναι μήκους 10\,49χλμ και θα επαναληφθεί δύο φορές από τους δρομείς του Ημιμαραθωνίου (21\,098χλμ). \nΈπαθλα και δώρα θα δοθούν στους τρεις πρώτους νικητές στις κατηγορίες ανδρών και γυναικών του Ημιμαραθωνίου και Ατομικού Δρόμου 10χλμ και 5χλμ\, ενώ θα βραβευτούν και οι τρεις πρώτες εταιρείες του Εταιρικού Δρόμου 5χλμ. \nΤο κόστος συμμετοχής ορίζεται ως ακολούθως: \n– Ημιμαραθώνιος: €12 \n– Ατομικός Δρόμος 10χλμ & 5χλμ: €12 \n– Εταιρικός Δρόμος 5χλμ: €200 / εταιρεία (μέχρι 20 άτομα*) \n* Για συμμετοχές πέραν των 20 ατόμων\, το κόστος ανά επιπλέον άτομο ανέρχεται στα €5. \nΌλοι οι συμμετέχοντες 12 χρόνων και άνω\, λαμβάνουν δωρεάν με την εγγραφή τους: μια συλλεκτική φανέλα του αγώνα (με εξαίρεση τον Εταιρικό Δρόμο)\, προσωπικό αριθμό συμμετοχής\, αναμνηστικό μετάλλιο και chip χρονομέτρησης (με εξαίρεση τον Δρόμο 1χλμ). \nΠαιδιά συμμετέχουν δωρεάν. \nΤα παιδιά μεταξύ 4-12 ετών μπορούν να δηλώσουν συμμετοχή τη μέρα του αγώνα (απαραίτητη προσέλευση μία ώρα πριν από την εκκίνηση). Τα παιδιά θα πάρουν δίπλωμα συμμετοχής\, καθώς και φρούτα από τις Υπεραγορές ΑΛΦΑΜΕΓΑ\, ενώ θα υπάρχουν και πολλές εκπλήξεις. Τα παιδιά 4 – 8 ετών θα πρέπει ΥΠΟΧΡΕΩΤΙΚΑ να συνοδεύονται από τον γονιό ή τον κηδεμόνα τους.\nΟι συμμετοχές θα υποβάλλονται ηλεκτρονικά μέσω της ιστοσελίδας www.runasone.eu και στα κέντρα εξυπηρέτησης των Υπεραγορών ΑΛΦΑΜΕΓΑ σε όλη την Κύπρο. Για όσες συμμετοχές υποβληθούν ηλεκτρονικά\, η παραλαβή του υλικού μπορεί να γίνει από το πλησιέστερο κατάστημα της ACS Courier. \nΔΙΑΣΚΕΔΑΣΗ «ΑΛΦΑΜΕΓΑ Fun Park» \nΣε όλη τη διάρκεια των αγώνων θα υπάρχουν πολλές παράλληλες δραστηριότητες με μουσική και παιχνίδια για μικρούς και μεγάλους. Οι εκδηλώσεις θα κορυφωθούν το μεσημέρι\, με τον τερματισμό όλων των αγώνων. SUMMARY:Sea to Sky
DESCRIPTION:The Sea-to-Sky Trail Ultra \nThe ultra will start on the beach at Alaminos and then head across the hills and mountains up to the highest point on the Troodos mountain range\, before dropping down to finish at the Jubilee Hotel. Total distance is about 120-125km (still being mapped out)\, elevation gain 5500m+ \nRaces: \n\n1. Sea-to-Sky Extreme. Runners cover the entire distance within a 28-30 hour period. \n2. Sea-to-Sky ‘Tourist’ Challenge. Runners cover the entire distance over two days\, overnighting at around the halfway mark and continuing to the finish line the next day. A runner’s times for each day will be added together to determine overall times. \n3. Sea-to-Sky Relay: Teams of up to five with changeover points about every 25-30km. This will be part of the extreme race. \n4. Three Peaks Challenge. Starting at Palaichori and following the route of the ultra\, this is a +-55km standalone race that will take place on November 21. It traverses three peaks: Papoutsa\, Madari and Shionistra (Mt Olympus). \nMore Information

DESCRIPTION:Info & Registration \nΣτις 4 Σεπτεμβρίου οι δρομείς που θα τεθούν στην γραμμή εκκίνησης του αγώνα στην εκκλησία του χωρίου Λαζανιάς στις 06:00 το πρωί θα συμμετάσχουν σε ένα μοναδικό αγώνα που συγκεράσει μέσα από τις διαδρομές του\, την απαράμιλλη ομορφιά και θέα της περιοχής\, τα μονοπάτια της σύγχρονης ιστορίας μας με το κρησφύγετο και την μάχη του Σταυραετού της ΕΟΚΑ Γρηγόρη Αυξεντίου με τα βυζαντινά χρόνια της Δυναστείας των Κομνηνών με το Μοναστήρι του Μαχαιρά και την περίοδο της Φραγκοκρατίας\, την μοναδική παραδοσιακή αρχιτεκτονική του χωρίου αλλά και του Φικάρδου (Το χωριό αποτελεί ιδιοκτησία του Τμήματος Αρχαιοτήτων\, το οποίο το 1978 κήρυξε ολόκληρο το χωριό σε «Αρχαίο Μνημείο» και «Ελεγχόμενη Περιοχή». Επίσης στον τερματισμό θα προσφερθούν τοπικά εδέσματα και ποτά από το Κοινοτικό Συμβούλιο Λαζανιά. \nΟ Λαζανιάς\nΚτισμένος σε υψόμετρο περίπου 900 μέτρων \, ο Λαζανιάς είναι ένα από είναι ένα από τα γραφικότερα ορεινά χωριά της επαρχίας Λευκωσίας. Στα βορειοδυτικά γειτονεύει με το χωριό Γούρρι και στα νοτιοδυτικά με το χωριό Φαρμακάς. \nΗ διατήρηση της ομορφιάς του στο πέρασμα των χρόνων αποδεικνύει πως πρόκειται για ένα «ευλογημένο» μέρος\, το οποίο αγναντεύει και προσέχει σαν κόρη οφθαλμού\, η Μεγαλόχαρη\, από την Μονή του Μαχαιρά. \nΠεριδιαβαίνοντας στα στενά πέτρινα ελικοειδή δρομάκια αναπόσπαστο κομμάτι της οικιστικής παράδοσης του νησιού μας\, ο επισκέπτης ταξιδεύει σε άλλη εποχή. Πλινθόκτιστα κεραμιδένια σπίτια\, μπαλκόνια με ξύλινες δοκούς\, σκαλιστά παράθυρα και πόρτες\, συνθέτουν την όμορφη εικόνα του  Λαζανιά. \nΕπιβλητικής ομορφιάς και σημαντικής αρχαιολογικής αξίας\, η εκκλησία του Αγίου Γεωργίου ανάγεται στις αρχές του 19ου αιώνα και αποτελεί ένα από τους σημαντικότερους λόγους για να επισκεφθεί κάποιος το χωριό Λαζανιάς. Η πολύχρωμη διακόσμηση της ξύλινης οροφής καθηλώνει τον επισκέπτη\, όπως ακριβώς καθήλωσε και τους Άγγλους μελετητές Τζέφρυ και Γκάννις \, οι οποίοι εντυπωσιάστηκαν με την εικόνα που αντίκρισαν στο εσωτερικό του ναού. \nΙστορικά Στοιχεία – Ονομασία\nΣύμφωνα με τους μελετητές\, η ιστορία του χωριού τοποθετείται στα Ύστερα Βυζαντινά χρόνια και το συνδέουν με την ίδρυση της Ιεράς Μονής του Μαχαιρά το 1160 μ. Χ. Σύμφωνα λοιπόν με τις μελέτες τους\, οι κάτοικοι της περιοχής που βρίσκεται σήμερα το χωριό κατοικούσαν σε μικρότερους οικισμούς οι οποίοι συνενώθηκαν με πρωτοβουλία δύο μοναχών της Μονής του Μαχαιρά. Ο Λαζανιάς μαζί με άλλα χωριά της περιοχής δόθηκαν ως προνόμιο στο Μοναστήρι του Μαχαιρά κατά τη Δυναστεία των Κομνηνών\, ωστόσο κατά την περίοδο της Φραγκοκρατίας τα προνόμια καταργήθηκαν και πέρασαν σε Φράγκους φεουδάρχες. Η φραγκική οικογένεια ντε Λουζινιάν της οποίας το χωριό ήταν φέουδο\, φαίνεται ότι χάρισε το όνομα στο χωριό. Συγκεκριμένα\, το όνομα Λαζανιάς αποτελεί παραφθορά του ονόματος «Λουζινιάν» (Lusignan) που παραπέμπει στη φραγκική βασιλική οικογένεια των ντε Λουζινιάν. Η αρχική άποψη των μελετητών ήταν πως κατά την περίοδο της Φραγκοκρατίας\, το χωριό\, αποτέλεσε φέουδο της οικογένειας των ντε Λουζινιάν\, οι οποίοι και έδωσαν το όνομά τους σε αυτό. Ωστόσο υπάρχει και η άποψη πως το όνομα δεν συνδέεται με την φραγκική βασιλική οικογένεια καθώς δεν περιλαμβάνεται το χωριό στον κατάλογο των φραγκικών φέουδων. O Γιώργος Καρούζης στο βιβλίο του συμπληρώνει «ο πρώτος οικιστής που προφανώς έφερε το όνομα Λαζανιάς\, εγκαταστάθηκε στο χωριό δημιουργώντας το φέουδο του με τους ντόπιους να εργάζονται ως κολλήγοι σ’ αυτό» (σ.331-332). \nΤέλος\, υπάρχει και η άποψη μερικών μελετητών που τοποθετούν την απαρχή της ιστορίας του χωριού στα τέλη του 18ου με 19ου αιώνα\, βασισμένοι στην παραδοσιακή αρχιτεκτονική δομή των οικισμών του χωριού.

SUMMARY:Kakotzefalos Trail Run
DESCRIPTION:Magnificent images\, trails full of challenge\, nature\, adrenaline and beautiful moments are the characteristics that compose the Race “Mantra tou Kambiou – Kakokefalos”. The race\, which will be held inside the Macheras Forest\, on May 8th\, 2022 and it is consisted by two routes\, one of 21km and one of 9km. \nThe route of 21km with elevation of 780m starts from the picnic area “Mantra tou Kambiou” at 7.30am and continues in the direction of the monastery of Profitis Ilias. The first 7km is a forest road\, while then and immediately after the monastery\, runners will enter the trail (E4) which ascends to the picnic area located in the area “Kionia”. Then\, the route descends and continues through the well-known trail Kakokefalos (E4). Leaving Kakokefalos\, the runners will continue on a forest road\, which will lead them to the finish area. There will be 3 water stations. Due to the peculiarity of the ground but mainly due to the many technical parts of the route\, trail shoes are considered necessary. More details will follow in the coming days. The Elevation Chart of the route is attached as well as the map in a GPX file. \nThe 9km route with elevation of 470m also starts from the picnic area at 8.30am\, but a few meters after the start it follows a separate direction. The runners will head to the cycling trail “Thanos” where they will ascend in the direction of Kionia. At a point where the path “Thanos” meets the “Kakokefalos”\, the runners will descend and continue to the finish area through the trail Kakokefalos. There will be 1 water station. Due to the peculiarity of the ground but mainly due to the many technical parts of the route\, trail shoes are considered necessary. More details will follow in the coming days. The Elevation Chart of the route is attached as well as the map in a GPX file. \nBoth races are experienced runners of 18 years old and above. Entry fee is set at €15 for 21km and €10 for 9km. \nRegistrations will ONLY be made through Dromea Racing website www.dromearacing.com/races until 03/05/2022 and registration fees are non-refundable. Runners who register until 28/04/2022 will have the opportunity to receive their participation package from any ACS COURIER store of their choice as well having their name printed on the race BIB number. \nThere will be symbolic prizes for the first three (3) men and women of the races.

DESCRIPTION:The Event \nThe selection of the Troodos GeoPark as the starting/finish point of our race is an effort to contribute and second the efforts of the Troodos Development Company and the Deputy Ministry of Tourism efforts to promote Troodos as a multifaced tourist destination. Moreover\, the Troodos Geopark is a unique destination for locals and tourists and is part of the UNESCO Global Geopark Network. The event which will take place on Sunday\, January 23\, 2022 and will comprise two race: \n\nThe Miners Trail 12km\nTroodos Geopark Trail 28.18 km\n\nBoth events will start at the Troodos Geopark Visitors Center (old Amiantos Mine) at 07:55 and 08:00 am respectively and will finish at the same place. At the finish line the athletes will receive a finishers medal drinks and local delicacies will be offered to the athletes and visitors. \nLast day for registration is January 19th 2022 \nTroodos Geopark \nThe Troodos Geopark (an area of 1.147 km2) Visitor Centre is located in the old Asbestos mine (Amiantos mine)\, an area with enormous historical value which now hosts an extraordinary botanical garden with information about the flora of the area\, a seed bank of endemic species and also a plethora of evidence for the past mining activity and the community which once flourished there. The Geopark Visitor Centre is situated in the newly restored elementary school of the abandoned asbestos mine. The building is an impressive listed structure  and an example of fine architecture with historic characteristics and features such as its fireplaces\, one in every room\, and a beautiful  internal yard. \nAt the entrance of the Geopark Visitor Centre the visitors are welcomed by an amazing geological garden consisting of all the rock types encountered in the area\, in stratigraphic order\, representing the Troodos ophiolite sequence.  An outdoor classroom is operated in the garden of the center\, where interactive lessons and demonstrations are delivered to visiting students and the general public. Impressive rocks and minerals\, a maquette of the geology of the area\, depicting sites of geological importance and interest (faults\, mines\, geo-trails\, etc.)\, informational panels and a conference room where the visitor can watch documentaries\, of the significance of the geology of the Troodos Mountain range are only some of the exhibits in the visitor center. \nThe Geopark Visitor Center also\, hosts exhibit of the abandoned Asbestos and Chromite mines\, representations of an ancient pyro-metallurgical furnace for the production of copper and a gallery of the last century for the exploitation of sulphate deposits. Finally\, on the way out a shop gives the opportunity to the visitor to buy handcrafted art products and other geo-products\, made by raw materials encountered in the Troodos area\, as well as an eco-tourism guide and the Troodos documentary movie. We are confident\, that a visit at the Geopark Visitor Center will be an interesting educational journey for the visitor providing an inside to the geological uniqueness of the Troodos area\, the most complete piece of oceanic crust on earth. Troodos has been and still is the scientific inspiration of geoscientists from all over the world enlightening them of the geological processes that are taking place in the depths of the recent oceans and the formation of new oceanic crust. \nThe formation of Cyprus is directly linked to the creation of the Troodos Mountain range\, as a result of a series of unique and complex geological processes which have made Cyprus a geological model for researchers from around the world\, contributing to a better understanding of the development of the oceans and of the planet in general. Neither the residents of Cyprus nor the island’s foreign visitors would ever suspect that the wooded peak of Troodos is actually the deepest layer of a section of oceanic crust and the Earth’s upper mantle. In other words\, an ophiolite complex that was formed 90 million years ago\, 8\,000 meters below sea level. The Troodos Geopark is located in the central part of Cyprus and its area is approximately 137\,000 hectares (1\,370 sq.m.)\, covering 45% of the total area of the Troodos range and 15% of the total area of Cyprus. Administratively\, the area forms part of three districts – Nicosia\, Paphos and Limassol – and covers the altitude from 300 meters to the highest peak\, Mount Olympus\, which stands at 1\,952m above sea level. It includes 110 communities with a total population of approximately 25\,000 residents. The region combines enormous geological interest with the unique natural environment of Troodos\, a long history of human settlements and the population’s local customs and traditions. \n\n\n
